Welcome to Kauri Motel on Riccarton

New Zealand will move to the new Covid-19 Protection Traffic Light System Thursday 2 December 11.59pm

ORANGE is the current setting for Christchurch being part of the South Island region (effective 2-December 11:59pm)

The health and safety of our visitors and team is paramount. With the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) beginning this Friday 3 December, there will be a few changes here at the Kauri Motel to ensure the safety of everyone while staying with us or visiting our property.

Effective December 3 2021, we will be requiring vaccination certificates to be shown prior to checking in with us here at the Kauri Motel.

Vaccination certificates will be required for all guests 12 years old or above.

Please note, guests may also be asked to provide proof of identity that corresponds to the name on the vaccination certificate. COVID-19 vaccination records can be accessed and requested on the My COVID Record website.

We will use our check in systems for guest contact tracing. This will contain the personal contact information of each guest staying with us.  We will require the full names of all guests/visitors staying in or visiting the property

Any guest that is showing symptoms of Covid-19 on arrival will not be permitted to check-in with us and a cancellation fee will NOT be applied.

Other Precautions we are taking:
In line with government guidelines for the COVID-19 Protection Framework (traffic lights) we will:

  • Require scanning in on entering the motel reception via the NZ COVID tracer app (we have the paper slips and box if you don't have the app on your device)
  • Require face mask use at Orange and Red levels
  • Implement social distancing measures at Orange and Red levels - only 1 guest in the reception area at any one time
  • Continue cleaning processes for high-touch areas/ surfaces
  • Housekeeping will be completed when our guests are not in their room (housekeeping is completed between the hours of 10am & 2pm)
